In NSW Health, internships are a partnership between the Local Health District/Specialty Health Network/Health Agency and the educational service provider. HETI is not directly involved in setting up the partnership or negotiating mediation. If you are doing an internship at NSW Health, you must meet the following requirements: Students must undergo tuberculosis screening three months prior to their first clinical placement. If you are affiliated with an NSW health facility, you must complete the mandatory e-learning modules in the NSW Health Learning Management System called «My Health Learning». 14 days before your internship, you will receive an email with a StaffLink ID that will allow you to log in to My Health Learning to complete the online learning. You must complete the mandatory e-learning modules before the start of your internship.

NSW Health is responsible for ensuring the safety of patients and students who complete internships at its facilities. Most students will follow an internship in NSW during their course and so you must abide by the NSW Health Policy. In this context, a number of forms specific to additional NSWs must be completed. If you are assigned for an internship at an ACT Health institution, an email is sent to your student by email from the ACT Health Clinical Placement Office inviting you to complete the online learning.
